God of War Ragnarök announced for PC, launching September 19 with enhanced features and comprehensive content

During Sony's State of Play stream on Thursday, the company made a significant announcement: the critically acclaimed sequel to the 2018 God of War reboot, God of War Ragnarök, is set to arrive on PC on September 19, just shy of its two-year anniversary. This eagerly anticipated release will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
God of War Ragnarök, which originally launched on November 9, 2022, for PS4 and PS5, has garnered widespread praise and numerous accolades. Although it was overshadowed by Elden Ring during the 2022 awards season, Ragnarök still secured several Game of the Year awards from notable publications, including Tom's Guide and Laptop Mag. GamesRadar+ gave it a high rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, praising its substantial narrative and gameplay, which rivaled its predecessor.

The PC port of God of War Ragnarök promises to uphold the high standards set by the 2018 God of War PC release, which was lauded for its exceptional performance and graphical fidelity. Notably, the 2018 port performed well even on lower-end hardware, making it a popular choice for Steam Deck users. The upcoming Ragnarök PC version will feature enhanced graphical options, including unlocked framerates, Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR support, and ultrawide resolution compatibility.

Jetpack Interactive, the studio responsible for the successful PC port of the 2018 God of War, is handling the Ragnarök port. This decision marks a departure from Nixxes Software, which has worked on recent PlayStation PC releases. Jetpack Interactive’s involvement suggests a high level of expertise and continuity in delivering a quality PC gaming experience.

System requirements for God of War Ragnarök on PC indicate that players will need a robust setup to fully enjoy the game’s visual and performance capabilities. Minimum requirements include an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500XT GPU, paired with a quad-core CPU running at 3.6GHz and 16GB of RAM. For a more optimal experience at 1440p and 60fps, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 GPU, along with an octa-core CPU, is recommended. The game will require at least 90GB of storage space, and an SSD is highly recommended for optimal performance.

The PC version will include all post-launch updates and additional content from the console versions, such as the Valhalla DLC, New Game+ mode, and new armor sets. This comprehensive package ensures that PC players will have access to the full range of content and features available to console players.
