A recent live-streamed program provided a wealth of new information, including the first main promotional video, a striking new visual, and additional character visuals. The season's narrative will center around a 2.5D stage play titled "Tokyo Blade," which is an adaptation of a manga within the story.
The new season introduces Ayane Sakura as Abiko Samejima, the manga creator behind "Tokyo Blade," and Daisuke Ono as GOA, the play's scriptwriter. Additional cast members include Kōki Uchiyama as Taiki Himekawa (Blade in "Tokyo Blade"), Yūsuke Kobayashi as Sakuya Kamoshida (Monme in "Tokyo Blade"), and Tomoyuki Shimura as Toshirō Kindaichi.

Returning characters will take on new roles within the stage play: Kana Arima (voiced by Megumi Han) as Tsurugi, Akane Kurokawa (voiced by Manaka Iwami) as Sayahime, Aqua Hoshino (voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka) as Touki, and Melt Narushima (voiced by Seiji Maeda) as Kizami.

The opening theme song for the second season, "Fatale," performed by GEMN, adds a fresh musical element to the show. The artist's details will be revealed soon, heightening the anticipation.

Directed by Daisuke Hiramaki and Chao Nekotomi at Doga Kobo, with scripts by Jin Tanaka and character designs by Kanna Hirayama, "Oshi no Ko" has established a strong production team. The first season, which premiered in April 2023 with a 90-minute debut episode, became HIDIVE’s most successful series launch, indicating a strong fan base eagerly awaiting the second season.

The manga, penned by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum's Wish), began in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in April 2020. It quickly gained acclaim, winning several awards including the Best General Manga at the 46th Kodansha Manga Awards. With over 3 million copies in circulation, the manga's popularity is undeniable.

Adding to its accolades, the manga is set to inspire a live-action film and television series adaptation, slated for release on Amazon Prime Video worldwide in winter 2024. These adaptations promise to bring a new dimension to the story, although original artist Mengo Yokoyari will not be involved due to other commitments.

"Oshi no Ko" follows the compelling story of Gorou Amemiya, a gynecologist who is reborn as Aquamarine Hoshino, the child of his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, after being murdered by her stalker. The series delves into the dark side of the entertainment industry as Aquamarine strives to help his new mother achieve stardom.

As fans eagerly await the premiere of "Oshi no Ko" Season 2, there's anticipation and curiosity about what lies ahead for the characters and the story. With a strong production team, a captivating narrative, and a dedicated fan base, "Oshi no Ko" is poised to continue its journey of success and captivate audiences once again.
