Tower of God Season 2 Premieres on July 7, 2024 with Exciting New Developments


Crunchyroll has announced that the eagerly awaited second season of the "Tower of God" anime will debut on July 7, 2024. Following the conclusion of the first season in 2020, fans have been anticipating the continuation of the series. The new season will be available for streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll across various regions including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS territories.
The second season introduces a blend of returning and new voice actors. Taichi Ichikawa will return as Jyu Viole Grace, alongside Yūma Uchida as Ja Wangnan and Sayumi Watabe as Yeon Yihwa. Saori Hayami will reprise her role as Rachel, with Nobuhiko Okamoto as Khun Aguero Agnis, Yu Shimamura as Yeo Goseng, and Saki Miyashita as Yeo Miseng also returning. The cast will be joined by Kenichirō Matsuda as Kang Horyang, Kento Shiraishi as Hon Arkraptor, Kengo Kawanishi as Prince, Natsuko Abe as Nia, and Naoki Irie as Rai.


The production team for the new season sees both familiar faces and new additions. Kazuyoshi Takeuchi, known for "Armored Trooper Votoms: Alone Again," serves as the chief director, while Akira Suzuki takes over the director role from Takashi Sano. Erika Yoshida, who worked on "Bocchi the Rock!," is co-writing the series scripts with Takeshi Miyamoto and Riuji Yoshizaki. Character design is handled by Miho Tanino, who returns from the first season, along with Seigo Kitazawa and Isamatsu Kashima. Kitazawa also serves as the chief animation director, and Kevin Penkin returns to compose the music.

Other key staff members include Yusuke Ikeda as the art director, Akihiro Hirasawa handling art settings, and Rieko Sekine as the color key artist. Anna Tomisaki from animocaramel is the compositing director of photography, Yukie Oikawa is the editor, and Takayuki Yamaguchi is the sound director. NiziU will perform both the opening and ending theme songs for the season.

The upcoming season will cover the "Return of the Prince" arc from S.I.U.'s original webcomic, which takes place six years after the events of the first season. The story centers on Ja Wangnan, who faces difficulties passing the 20th floor of the Tower. During his struggles, he encounters the enigmatic Viole and persuades him to join his team of Regulars. Their journey is filled with new challenges and adventures.

"Tower of God" was initially released as a manhwa by SIU on NAVER WEBTOON in 2010 and later translated to English on WEBTOON in 2014. The anime adaptation's first season premiered in April 2020 as part of the Crunchyroll Originals lineup, consisting of 13 episodes and directed by Takashi Sano at Telecom Animation Film. Fans can rewatch the first season on Crunchyroll. The original webcomic continues to be available on WEBTOON, with the series now in its third season. Additionally, Wattpad publishes the series as a graphic novel under its WEBTOON Unscrolled imprint, with the fourth volume set to release in June 2024.
